The Method Marketing

About

We did the job before we started selling it.

The Method Marketing is founder-led on purpose. Based in Concord Township near Cleveland, Ohio, we bring the judgment of people who have built marketing and business-development functions inside real businesses—not just sold agency deliverables from the outside.

Founder proof, not agency theater

Built inside real businesses. Still accountable for the answer.

TMM is woman-owned and Latina-owned. Melissa is the primary partner and the marketing operator behind the agency; Derek brings the sales, systems, and commercial diagnosis side. Neither of us is here to sell a deck and disappear after the kickoff call.

7 years at Keis George LLP

Melissa built the department from one person to five and supported 16.69% average year-over-year growth.

14 years in technical B2B

Derek spent fourteen years in business development at MatPLUS before joining TMM full-time.

Owner access stays direct

The people making the calls are the people doing the work—not account managers relaying it downstream.

What TMM is

The work does not get handed to somebody who was not in the conversation.

Melissa and Derek stay close to the work because the diagnosis is the work. We look at what is underperforming, find the upstream issue when there is one, and make the next business decision easier—not bury it under a prettier marketing plan.

Diagnose

Find what is actually blocking trust, visibility, calls, sales, or follow-through.

Fix

Use the right mix of message, website, SEO, content, systems, or sales structure to move the business.

Prove

Make the work visible enough that a prospect or client can see what changed and why it mattered.

Our Process

Diagnose first. Then decide what actually needs done.

01 Diagnose

We start by figuring out what is actually blocking trust, calls, sales, visibility, or follow-through, not by pretending every business needs the same plan.

02 Fix

Then we fix the part that matters most, whether that means messaging, SEO, website structure, content, systems, or the way the business is following up.

03 Prove

You should be able to see what changed, why it changed, and what it was supposed to improve instead of being handed vague reporting and wishful thinking.

Our Team

  • Sharper writing, clearer page structure, and stronger content planning
  • Trust-building consistency instead of random marketing activity

Derek Wilson

Derek Wilson

Derek brings the blunt diagnosis, sales judgment, systems thinking, and business-first filter. He is there to figure out what is actually broken, what matters first, and what should stop wasting time, money, or momentum.

  • Sales-aware positioning and offer clarity
  • Faster diagnosis of messaging, website, and process problems
  • Systems and follow-through that keep opportunities from leaking out

Supporting proof

  • Spent 14 years as Business Development Manager at MatPLUS, an orthopedic materials manufacturer, before joining TMM full-time in 2023.
  • Built his career around technical B2B sales, business evaluation, training, and revenue-gap diagnosis.
  • Featured in VoyageOhio's Rising Stars series for the practical problem-solving approach that now shapes TMM.

Outside recognition

Nice to be recognized. Better to be useful.

Outside organizations have asked us to speak, teach, and share the founder story. That is not the same as client proof, but it gives buyers another reason to believe there is real experience behind the work.

Our Partners

The core work stays close. Specialist support expands when it helps.

TMM stays lean on purpose. Melissa and Derek stay close to the work, and specialists get pulled in when the problem genuinely needs deeper execution. That might mean design, development, media, or another focused skill set, but the goal is still the same: useful work, clear ownership, and marketing that acts like a system instead of a pile of disconnected tasks.

If someone comes to mind while you are reading this, send them our way. The right referrals are always appreciated.

Core direction stays close.

The diagnosis, strategy, and business judgment stay with the founders instead of getting passed downstream.

Specialists are added intentionally.

Extra hands come in when they improve the outcome, not to make the business look bigger than it is.

Accountability stays visible.

The work should still feel like one line of thinking, one standard, and one clear reason for each decision.

Pricing

We love analytics. The analysis still ends with: did it make you money?

We track the work closely. We just do not confuse activity with impact. Traffic, clicks, and reporting are great. Business owners still ask the right question: "That is great, but did it make you money?" That is the standard.

Proof first

Start small enough to prove it

One Free Fix exists to show how we think before anyone gets pushed into bigger spend.

No locked-in waste

Month to month means it has to keep earning its spot

Some businesses need a defined rebuild. Others need steady support without getting locked into the wrong engagement too early.

Revenue filter

The dashboard is not the final answer

Activity is useful context. The real question is what changed in the business and whether the work made you more money.

Start the conversation

If the work matters, the people behind it should be visible.

Start with the page, pitch, website, follow-up problem, or the plain-English version of what is not working. Normal-human language is fine.
